SBI Bluechip Fund is not performing. Currently, it is showing negative returns ( -6.1%). Should I remove all my funds from there now? Will it go down further?
It is not possible to offer a personalised solution to your problem as you have not mentioned when you invested in the scheme. You also haven’t shared crucial details like goals, time horizon, risk profile, etc.
It seems you are talking about the returns in the one-month period. The fund has offered -6.2% in one month. However, the scheme has managed to post 29% in the last one year, marginally higher than its benchmark’s 28%. In the three-year period also it barely managed to beat its benchmark.
A lot of mutual fund analysts believe that large cap funds have been struggling to beat their benchmarks lately. Ever since Sebi introduced the total returns index or TRI as benchmark, activity-managed schemes have been struggling. This made passively managed schemes like index schemes and Exchange Traded Funds very popular. If you are influenced by this debate, you may shift your investments to index based schemes.
